Tiki
The divine dragon rescued from the Fane of Raman by Prince Marth.
Tiki is a divine dragon character who appears in the first installment of the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. In this original 1990 release for the Family Computer, she is rescued by Prince Marth during his campaign to reclaim his kingdom from the Dolhr Empire. Unlike later entries where she may appear as a young girl or adult, here her introduction is tied directly to the rescue mission orchestrated by the sage Gotoh. Tiki represents one of the few non-human allies available to the player in this tactical role-playing game, joining Marth's growing army on the fictional continent of Archanea.

Lore & Background
Tiki is a divine dragon who was held captive within the Fane of Raman. Her rescue becomes a critical turning point in Marth's quest to defeat the dark wizard Gharnef and his master, the Shadow Dragon Medeus. Gotoh informs Marth that Gharnef wields the tome Imhullu, rendering him invincible unless defeated with the magic of Starlight. The materials needed to create this spell are found at the Fane, where Tiki is also located. Her presence there suggests she was being held as a hostage or prisoner by forces aligned with Dolhr. This event marks her first appearance in the series history, establishing her role as a key figure in Marth's journey before he invades Macedon and eventually defeats Medeus.
In Their Own Story
During Marth's campaign across Archanea, Gotoh reveals that Gharnef is invincible due to the magic tome Imhullu. To counter this, Gotoh directs Marth to the Fane of Raman to gather materials for the Starlight spell. It is within this sacred location that Marth encounters Tiki. The narrative describes her rescue as a specific mission objective alongside securing the components for Starlight. Following this event, Marth continues his path to invade Macedon, where he deposes King Michalis with the aid of Princess Minerva. After reforging Starlight in Macedon, Marth returns to Khadein to defeat Gharnef and reclaim the stolen sword Falchion. Tiki's rescue is a precursor to these major victories, providing the necessary magical means to overcome the enemy's greatest wizard.
Reader's Guide
In Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Tiki is a recruitable unit found during the mission at the Fane of Raman. She joins Marth's party after being freed from captivity. As a divine dragon, she functions as a unique character class distinct from standard human units like mounted knights or archers. The game features 52 characters that can be recruited in total over the course of the story, and Tiki is one of them. Like other units, if Tiki falls in battle during any mission, she is subjected to permanent death and removed from all subsequent missions and the rest of the storyline. Her presence allows players to utilize her unique capabilities against Gharnef's forces. The game ends only if Marth himself falls in battle.
